Spares
Our Autovents are designed and tested to last many years. However, each and every part of a Bayliss Autovent can be serviced should the need arise. Our products are not ‘throw away’ items and as evidence of this we still carry some spares for the earliest models we made.
Tube life is not infinite, and you can reasonably expect 6-7 years from them. Over the years, the piston moving through the seals gradually wears the seal material away, allowing a gradual seepage of wax out of the tube. This in turn reduces the pressure within the tube and eventually the opening distance achieved will be affected. This is when you need to replace the tube.
We list below details of all the tubes that are available and which tube is needed for each unit. Back in the 1980s we manufactured our Mk III, and Mk V models, all of which can be serviced. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control we are unable to make tubes to fit our Mk I and II models (made in the 1960s and 70s).
All our products are guaranteed for two years against faulty manufacture. Provided the unit has not been tampered with (i.e. the piston pulled out of the tube), damaged by the window being tied shut, damaged by unusually strong high winds or fitted incorrectly, then we will repair it free of charge if it is returned to us. You also can buy Autovent spares online.
If you’re not sure what model you have then use our Autovent Identification Guide to find out.
